This print campaign I photographed for agency David & Goliath based in Los Angeles, Client Carls Jr. The images ended up being used as life sized cut outs in their outlets. Apparently the response to the campaign was so great that many a Miss Turkey was abducted and there are probably a few life sized Miss Turkey’s hanging out in many an American household.
The idea is so simple yet effective and I loved the layout the moment I saw it.
I also love the attention to detail, have a look at the design of the swimsuit, very cool… see below the tiny burgers !
A shoot done for Puma with some of their contracted Springbok players - Schalk Burger Tendai Mtawarira and Francious Louw.
The Chalenge of getting a sharp image of a player running at full flight straight into camera was achieved by syncing with the Broncolor Flash and a Hasselblad body which allows syncing at 1/800th of a second.
Really nice to work with such down to earth players.
Here is the Lalesso SS12 catalogue I shot out near the most Southern tip of Africa, we decided on desert location as it made the clothes stand out more and also decided on quite a radical neon uber retouched vibe to add to the punchyness (thanks to Riyaad Jamal), not everybodys cupa joe but it does the trick nicely! I heard this great song the other day by a South African band (who cannot be named….) and thought these visuals worked quite nicely together so we went out and shot a music video.
Unfortunately there were some complications regarding which song version we liked, and they the band felt that having a different version on the music video would confuse the fan out there which meant that we hit a stale mate!?? Therefore this vid did not go Live which is a shame. Here it is anyway as part of my directoral & conceptual showcase. Enjoy.

Paternoster is a great place to shoot. The rustic fishing boats line up on the sand and calm relaxed ambiance emanates from this rustic West Coast fishing dorp. Check out the local bar its filled with character and alot of underwear pinned up on the walls from wild parties. This town can get Crazzee! Model is the lovely Shannon from Ice Models, Hair and Make Up Jacqui Lupton, Styling Didi Danso, Production Bigsky.
Some good travel advice when you get into a sticky situation in Cameroon, mention Samuel Eto’o and Football and you will be fine. Samuel is more famous than the president and that is why we were there doing a documentary for Puma about how he was found by a man called Diallo who now runs his foundation.
