Shooting in studio and dropping in a background is something that makes every photographer’s hair stand up on end especially when you live in a place like Cape Town that has superb natural light and endless location possibilities. However it can sometimes look quite cool especially when the background is not made to look real. 

This shoe catalogue shot for client Scholl commissioned by Manchester based Ad Agency “The Foundry” worked very nicely using illustrations for background. It does a lot to bring the shoes to the fore and adds to an uncluttered look and feel. 

Models Andrea Ashton from Ice Models  and Lyndall Jarvis from Outlaws did a superb job, as did the team of Hayden Phipps in digital, Daleen on Hair and Make Up and Charlotte in the styling department.
